There were a lot of iPhones at Christmas this year. On December 25, at least in the US, iPhones largely dominated smartphone activation.
As we can see, iPhones accounted for 90% of the activations for the 10 most activated smartphones for Christmas. We find the iPhone 11, iPhone XR and iPhone 12 Pro Max on the podium. The iPhone 12, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE, and iPhone 12 Pro are following them. The bottom three in the top 10 are the iPhone 8, iPhone 8, and the LG K30.
Interestingly, there is no Samsung Galaxy on the list. Nevertheless, the builder is popular. But it is true that the American market is very much shaped by Apple with its iPhones. Another interesting element is the lack of the iPhone 12 mini. This model attracts fewer people than the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
This Christmas was definitely not as good as last year. In fact, the number of smartphone activations on Christmas Day fell by 23% in one year. The situation with Covid-19 has surely made some people review their budget.
