There is an issue with Apple’s servers preventing the iPhone and other products from activating after Christmas. Apple mentions a connection problem with iCloud accounts.
Apple states the following on its System Status website:
Some users are affected. Some users may have a problem with this service.
The blackout has been taking place in the morning since December 25th. It started at 10:45 a.m., according to Apple. We imagine that many people received an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or other for Christmas. There were therefore a significant number of connections to Apple’s servers for activation. This can be understood. But the fact that the problem is still relevant this morning is surprising. Apple usually corrects errors within a few hours.
Did you receive an iPhone, iPad, Mac or other device for Christmas and can’t activate it? You can’t do anything special right now. We’ll have to wait for Apple to do what is necessary for its servers. We can only hope that it will soon be an old story. It’s been 24 hours.
In addition to activation, the power outage can cause problems for anyone who wants to sign in to iCloud for a number of reasons.
